On the Workstation:
Run gpedit.msc - Add GPEDIT to Home versions of Windows >7
...10 home was still missing the appropriate key in GPEDIT... I ran this from an admin command prompt:
%COMSPEC% /C reg add HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\NetworkProvider\HardenedPaths /v "\\*\NETLOGON" /d "RequireMutualAuthentication=0" /t REG_SZ
Go to
Computer -> Administrative Templates -> Network -> Network Provider -> Hardened UNC Paths
Enable the policy
Under Options, click the [Show] button
In "Value name" enter the server name, IE:
\\MyServerName
In "Value" enter the following:
RequireMutualAuthentication=0,RequireIntegrity=0,RequirePrivacy=0
Apply all settings and close gpedit
Takes effect immediately, no reboot required
