Verify that there is a problem following the steps in the
Testing Archiving to make sure email is being archived into the appropriate folder
document.
Make sure they are on the most recent version of Notes
Use local for both Mail and Mail Archive while performing the following steps
Right-click the mail database and select
D
atabase /
P
roperties
Go to the Design tab
Check
Database is a Template
and make the template name something temporary (I use 'tmp')
Without closing the Properties dialog box, click on the mail archive database
On the Design tab, set it to
Inherit design from template
(whatever you set for the mail database - ie. 'tmp')
Still without closing the Properties dialog, right-click on the mail archive database and select
D
atabase / Re
f
resh Design
and specify where you are working (if you are working with local databases, specify local, etc.)
Uncheck Inherit Design... on the design tab of the archive database
Click on the mail database and uncheck
Database is a Template
on the design tab
Do a full replication and make sure both the mail database and the mail archive database replicated correctly.
Test using the steps outlined in the Testing Archiving... doc linked above.
Notes:
If folders are not being created or there is a problem, following the above steps to syncronize the folders will make any documents already archived show up in the appropriate folder.
If the folder is not created in the Archive database and they manually create a folder of the same name, the folder will not be created automatically due to the folder name already existing, but documents will not be archived into the manually created folder because folder's unique ID # will not match that of the folder in the Mail database. This can be fixed by deleting the folder in the Archive db and having it be created by following the steps above - once the folder is created and the ID matches, the archived documents that were supposed to go into it will show up.
