I've never seen SSL required until 6/8/07 with Julie Mohler.... Setting SSL Required fixed her problem.
Did some research and found an article at

Account Activation
New routers being shipped with SBC Accounts are typically 192.168.0.1 (or 172.16.1.254 for 2Wire)
Connect to PPPOE using:
Login: sbcyahooreg@sbcglobal.net
Pass: sbcyahooreg
Once connected, browse to
https://sbcreg.sbcglobal.net
and create the account.
